(Legs Apart Posture)

The feet are spread in this asana therefore the asana is called Prasarita Padottanasana.

Method

  1. Stand in Sama Stithi, stretch the feet as far as possible keeping them parallel to each other.
  2. Slowly while exhaling, bring the palms and head vertically down to the ground.
  3. Breathing in a normal way one can remain in this position as long as possible.
  4. Gradually, slowly come back to Sama Stithi and relax.

 

Benefits

Persons unable to perform shirsasan can do this asana with almost the same benefits. Rejuvenates legs and the body.
