(Bridge Posture, also known as Setu Bandhasana)

This posture resembles bridge so it is called Sethubandasana.

Method

  1. Lie in supine pose
  2. Fold both legs at the knee and catch the ankles with the hands
  3. Slowly while inhaling raise the buttocks as maximum as possible till chest touches the chin
  4. Stay for a while, with exhalation bring back the buttocks
  5. Repeat 4 or 5 times, and slowly come back to supine pose

Benefits

It cures all low back problems. It stimulates thyroid gland. It cures menstruation cycle problems and gives strength to the pelvic region. It helps in easy delivery.
